At MK Architecture, we believe that the smallest detail should have a meaning or serve a purpose, Design impacts all our lives in ways subtle and overt, great design is more than simply good aesthetics, It is the way we use objects.
We value design as a tool to influence the way people use space, by creating atmospheres that are accessible and adaptable provoking inspiration and connection.
We strive to promote relationships spatially and interpersonally enhancing the performance of the build environment and its inhabitants. Each design should be a one of a kind, effectively communicating one’s passion toward a solved problem for the end user and the industry. Additionally, integrating various resources to create spaces that are environmentally and economically sustainable is of extreme importance.
We look to design elements such as balance, form, emphasis, texture, and color to inspire unity in our work.

Mourad Kicha AIA, LEED AP+DC received his master’s degree in architecture from the City College of New York, and he is the founding principal of MKA. With more than twenty years of professional experience, his passion is using design and problem solving to create functional buildings and sites that are connected, interesting, comfortable, and safe while using creative means and methods in design & construction. He strives to work closely with his clients to create innovative, integrated design solutions and to build on sustainability within the project budgets and limitations.
Mourad has worked on high-profile, and large-scale projects in the United States & overseas including LaGuardia Airport, the MoMA Tower in NY, the Rutgers Cancer Institute (CINJ), & the NJ University Hospital while working at some of the most prestigious Architectural firms: SOM, HOK, & Perkins Eastman. Extensive knowledge and experience in construction technology, sustainability, building materials, equipment, and mathematics are utilized in order to carry out necessary responsibilities pertaining to client interface, project document delivery, and CA.
Mourad vigorously addresses the challenge of ensuring sustainable solutions and maximizing the potential of emerging digital technologies; furthermore, he actively engages in the exchange of ideas and collaborates with consultants from all fields.
Mourad is a registered Architect in New York & New Jersey States, a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Healthcare Facilities Management Society of NJ (HFMSNJ), Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC), the USGBC (US Green Building Council), the Architectural League of New Jersey and the NCARB (National Council of Architectural Registration Board).
